Why

Have you ever set a goal, made a decision, or simply said "I'm gonna do that someday"; and that someday never came? Do you know why you never reached your goal or followed through? It could be because you didn't have a strong enough reason why. "Why" is the foundation that action, momentum, and fulfillment are built on. "Why" is what gives the conviction, the motivation, and the wanton desire to achieve everything that you want in life. If you want to succeed in business, if you want to stop smoking, if you want to have passionate relationships, if you want to drop some pounds, and you're not doing it; maybe you should sit down, and clarify the reason why you want it in the first place. If you develop a compelling "why," nothing will stop you! Nothing! For years, I listened to leaders in every area of life talk about their purpose... their reason why; but I never really felt inside what they were feeling. My accomplishments... my success... made me feel great, and I was able to do and see things that many others have not; but there was a void that wasn't being filled. My accomplishments were only for me. I accomplished things so I could have the fame and success and brag to other people about what I had done. I did it, and I just didn't feel fulfilled. Why? Because I didn't have a purpose... a reason why. On October 30, 2005, my reason why walked up and said, "Hi!" This page is dedicated to her. She has taught me that people will do more for others than they'll ever do for themselves.

| My Amazing Wife... Nikki On October 30, 2005, I was speaking at the Women's Expo in Columbus, Ohio. At the time, Nikki was working for the radio station that sponsored the event. The first time I noticed Nikki, she was walking towards me. I leaned over and said to a guy standing next to me, "I'm gonna take her out." On October 31, 2005, Nikki and I went on our first date. On December 23, 2005, I asked Nikki to marry me. On January 21, 2006, we were married. It's the best decision I ever made and the best thing that has ever happened to me. Every day gets better than the day before. I can't imagine a day without Nikki in my life. So, what does all of this have to do with The Power Of Why? I know without a doubt that I would die for Nikki. She has taught me what it means to be selfless, to love, and to live. Nikki became and she will always be my reason why. One year after we promised ourselves to each other, we made some promises of our own. They're hanging on the wall in our home, because I want the world to know what my wife means to me. | |

To the most wonderful and amazing woman in the world, my wife… Nikki, I’ve decided that on the day of each one of our anniversaries, I will write a letter to let you know what you’ve meant to me over the past year. This year, our very first year, was the best year of my life so far. What could be better than marrying the lady of my dreams, the woman who stole my heart, and my best friend? As I was standing at the altar with our one-eyed minister waiting on you to walk down the aisle, I thought my heart was going to pound out of my chest. I wasn't nervous or scared. I was overwhelmed with excitement and anticipation. I was about to promise my life to a person who showed me that I never really loved before... the first person I would die for. When I saw you walk through the door of the chapel, you really were the most beautiful woman in the world… I have always thought that since the day I met you. And over the last year, each moment has gotten better and better. Just a recap on 2006…
| My Vows To You: My Husband, my life, my love... on this, our first anniversary, I pledge to you my soul and spirit from now until eternity.
I love you now and forever, my husband and my best friend.
